The Aero I gouge in front of me says TAS is about 3 knots faster for every thousand feet...that means you could be pushing at least a C-note up there at 50% TQ ;)

probably...there are a few discrepancies with the numerical data in these NAVEDTRA books.

You clearly didn't insert the errata and interim changes properly. I think that's a down.

It's probably the reason why I can't seem to make a 100 on any of the tests as well ;)

I hate feeding these things, so I'm going to ask a very vague question. Has anyone heard recently anything about T-45 specific NACES weights and waivers?

Yes, if you are in Quota Group 1 2 or 4, you can get a height waiver or overweight waiver.
Group 3 underweight waiver only.

Group 5? You're screwed!

Well, finally done with primary, caught back up on this thread. My only reasoning now is that... "if there is gouge, there is no gouge." I think fiscal year did play into effect on a few things, mainly just if you would be shoved through or sit around and wait. As far as the numbers, it just seemed like the random crazy ass week to week fluctuations. Everyone in my squadron.. all three of us got our first choice (even the marine with a high nss, got first choice helo, no jet drafting). Can't say the same for whiting or my across the hanger squadron, but I know there was a bunch of guys/gals selecting and I wiggled into the only Navy tailhook spot. Maybe I was the only one wanting it, and I don't know what the actual spread was, doesn't prob. matter because next week will be different.

So, I didn't worry about it anymore than the question I asked on here. Went back to work and focused on the rest of RI's where you can make up a lot of ground, especially early blocks when MIF is low. I can only imagine the only saving grace in a low # week for the platform you desire is to have the Highest NSS possible. I wouldn't consider a TACMED down, because it is douche' and the squadron is prob going to recognize this and might create a bad rap. (just my dumb Ens .02, different situations, will well......differ).

Well, I'll be selecting the first week of the new fiscal year (thursday!) and we'll see how it all pans out.

Most of the kids going through TW4 the past month have really wanted rotary. Rumor mill was that some absurd number (<50%) of kids selecting in Aug/Sept were putting Rotary first. What I saw from my buddies and our selection classes pretty much backs that up.

FWIW, I feel like 90% of the people I know that selected the past two months got what they wanted (minus a few KRock vs Meridian preferences). The only kids I do know that didn't get their first choice had NSSs ~52-50.0 and wanted Tailhook; after that, they got their second choice. Not a bad way to end the dreaded "fiscal year selection" rumor mill.
