Some of the squadron names make me laugh, I wonder where they come up with them.

Personally I get a kick out of the "Blue Blasters" VFA-34. I dunno, just something about it.

What are you faves?

I got a squadron question. What do the letters "V" and the other often seen letters that represent the squadron stand for?

"For he who serves his fellows, is among his fellows greatest."

It's an anachronism dating back to WWI. The "V" is a designation for fixed wing aircraft, as opposed to the "Z" designation, which referred to dirigibles, which as far I know (if anyone knows different, please correct me) the USA doesn't have in its inventory.

Conan: To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of the women!
Mongol General: That is good.

Must be nice to own your own web site so that you can put your own worthless input into the forum.

Hi I'm new here, but I'm pretty well-informed on all the non hands on stuff on aviation(Read: I haven't touched a real friggin stick yet..but soon).
Anyway the Jolly Rogers is currently VF-103. After VF-84 got decommisioned, VF-103 Sluggers requested the name change. It's too bad they're all on low viz scheme now though...

Frumby, such jealousy in your aging years, your probably just disgruntled since your sitting copilot to a retired Air Force Colonel or something... "Um, Frumby, can you get me a cup of coffee?" Not like I have much room to talk since I am the pub bag carrying "bitch" on my crew...

Bean, sounds like a personal issue, go see the flight surgeon, maybe he can give you something to clear that up... and are you ever going to fix your avatar? What's up with that?

I shot and posted my own avatar, how to fix it is beyond my desires or ability. On a personal note, since I have more time over 6 g's than y'all have total maybe you shouldn't knock the merits of vitamin V.
