For any Tac Air guys current or former (even really old big fighter guys ). If you are out of the Navy or getting out and looking for a job, give me a shout (PM). I have some good info on F-35 CIP jobs (think F18 sim instructor). The job is open to both pilots and WSO’s.

Cheers

Dave

Right now, if you are a tac air guy that meets their min hours, are competent, don’t say stupid shit in an interview and are willing to move to one of the locations they are hiring, then your chances are extremely good. Pay is awesome, benefits are good and you are home every night.

Where are they hiring? Anything besides Lemoore?

I know that Lemoore is hiring and they will pay well. Rumor has it that despite the good pay and job description, people still aren’t going there. Can’t figure out why. I don’t know who else is hiring, but I know at least one USN retired Aviator and one USN reservist Aviator are at Eglin as CIPs for both the A and C models.

I would go onto JSFirm and look at those areas. I may be wrong, but I got the impression that the TRACOM CIPs weren't paid as much as fleet CIPs. But the fact that they went on strike when I was a student might have something to do with that.

The existence of NAS Lemoore is single handedly the biggest reason I’m getting out. The “California is socialist” part of the discussion is actually the smallest part of that argument for me. But I do agree with it.

I'm convinced that whoever made the decision to give Miramar to the USMC instead Lemoore was doing it as a last "F you" to the Navy before he retired. He probably also is the guy who got the Fallon O'club pool filled with rocks, ended LSO bottle bets, and spearheaded the Great Callsign Witch-hunt of 2009.

Also, The San Joaquin valley is an extremely unhealthy place to live, particularly if you require air to breathe and water to drink.

Yeah but if I’m going to pay to be in California it better be nicer than West Texas
