Has anyone ever actually used Armed Forces Vacation club? It almost looks like a scam to me with deals too good to be true...
I have used it twice, no problem, but it has been years. I have a sister in law that uses it often. As said, do some additional research to make sure what you are getting. Not likely you will get screwed, but maybe disappointed if the photos and info are a bit rosey.

My parents have been RCI members for about two decades since getting scammed into buying a timeshare. I'd run away from anything RCI branded, but have no experience with AFVC.

@DanMa1156 Have heard rave reviews of this place: http://www.edelweisslodgeandresort.com/

The Space A travel wiki has some good gouge on catching a Space A flight into Europe and getting to the resort. It's on my short list of vacations.

Edelweiss is very nice. Location is to die for. Decent tours and activities. Food at the resort is average, but walking distance and short drives around Garmish the food and beer is...well...Bavarian. What more is there to say?

The smell of a bearclaw in the Hauptbahnhof - yes, in Europe now. The amount of eye candy (for the single guys) in Innsbruck, Austria was unbelievable, then again, it is a university town. Love that place. The train ride from Innsbruck through Salzburg into Vienna is the one of the prettiest rides ever. September is a great time of year to be in Europe.

Along the river Vltava in Prague - the area is called Naplavka.

Interesting difference between Austria and Czech - the migration crisis that has hit Austria seems to have bypassed Eastern Europe so far.

Any restaurant or bar ideas in Prague, Budapest, or Copenhagen?

You really can't go wrong along the riverbanks in either Budapest or Prague - Old Town in Prague is a lot of fun too. Sorry, no help on Copenhagen but Pags seemed to know.

If you have time, check out the Prague Aviation Museum at Kbely. Most of the airplanes I have seen were always American, or at least Western - here you get a chance to see what Ivan has flown: Sukhois, Tupelovs and every jet MiG (except the Foxbat unfortunately.) There was also a Soyuz space capsule.

Unfortunately Noma is closing temporarily at the end of the year.
Well disregard what I said about Noma (unless you go in the next month or so).

I've personally never been to Noma but from my buddy's stories the cuisine sounded interesting.

For those around the PNW, Willows Inn is a short ferry ride from Anacortes/Bellingham and the head chef worked at Noma for several years before moving to the US. I haven't tried it yet, but I have friends that have and they says it's fantastic.
