Took slightly longer than I thought, but it's done - there are now Airwarriors shared folders on both JWICS and SIPR.
Background: Enough interesting threads pop up on this site that would be useful to continue in a more secure environment, but OPSEC obviously precludes that option. It would be nice to have a place to stash documents, URLs, and other think pieces relevant to naval aviation and what's going on in the world - all at the appropriate level of classification.
Solution: The Intelink powers-that-be have recently created a "shared folder" structure called Inteldocs. To access this, from the Intelink home page click on the "References" tab at the top right, then click on the Inteldocs tab on the left side of the next page. From there, click on "Groups", and scroll down to the "Airwarriors SIPR" (or JWICS, depending on which system you are on) folder. This will take you to the top level of the shared folder, where you can see and download what has been placed there.
The web page structure is the same on both networks, so the above instructions will work on either.
Content: So far, there's not too much - I placed a couple of things of interest on the SIPR side today (APG-79 AESA overview and SIPR URLs), and will do the same for JWICS tomorrow. The folders are not synched, because they are on different networks, so you have to post in both places. Anyone can download the information, but I'm not sure if anyone can upload - I think if you are logged in to Passport you can, but I need to find out. If that doesn't work and you want something posted, you can always email it (or a link to it) to me - my email on both networks is available in the folder.
Ground Rules: Obviously, you have to respect the security boundaries - SIPR stuff on SIPR, the more the merrier on JWICS. Make it relevant to this forum, or the folder will fill up pretty fast with chaff. Ideally, you can post in this thread to let people know you've added something. Be sure if you do that to respect OPSEC boundaries when you desribe it and not tip the hand of something sensitive.
Since there's no good way to have a threaded discussion anymore on SIPR or JWICS, I'll leave an MS Word document in there where you can post any questions or comments.
We'll give this a try for a few weeks/months; if it proves useful, awesome. If we (and by "we", I pretty much mean "I"...) get our nuts in a crack for any reason, end of experiment.
