If you passed the flight physical at Newport then you should be good when you do your check up in pcola. If i remember correctly, the physical in pensacola only took like an hour or two and thats with all the waiting around.

Yeah I got my eyes checked at MEPS last February (2017) and they were 20/40 uncorrected, 20/20 corrected. I don't think they have changed, but if they do I'm not sure what to do. My recruiter said everything will be fine, so I hope so.

I understand man. I was worried about the flight physical also. I even got my eyes dilated and checked before i went and was told everything looked fine. I later found out during the OCS physical that i had small cataracts and went through most of OCS thinking i was going to get disqualified for pilot. However, i was given a waiver and living happily ever after lol. Point of the story is, most things that get people disqualified for pilot at OCS are for conditions they had no idea they had. I also know several guys that had 20/40 at OCS and have wings on their chest now. Try not to worry too much and good luck at OCS!

Does anyone have more recent experience on this question? I'll be headed to flight school as an SNFO after OCS. My sister is getting married a week after I graduate and I'm obviously hoping to be at the wedding. It's in RI, so luckily no travel involved. It seems like I'll get at least some OHARP duty and should be able to make the wedding. Would taking a week of leave be possible if necessary?
