El Indio Mexican Food on India street down townish is a great spot for locals. Nice patio across the street to eat outside.
I wouldn't call it a nice place but Aldaberto's on Rosecrans is the place to go for Mexican food.
Okay, so here's another one for you guys. I'm originally from LA, so I've been down there on a few occasions, but I don't think she has ever been there. So...aside from the obvious (Midway, SD Zoo, Sea World), what are some good attractions we could visit inbetween all the restaurants you're sending us to? She's also a pilot, so I wouldn't necessarily rule any aviation stuff out. And of course I'm assuming that I'll be able to go outside and such post-op...
I'm not sure you will want to see ANYTHING that emits light for the first two days. Students of mine reported staying in their blacked-out room hating the "SAND IN THE EYES" pain and avoiding all light sources.

Three days for me (both times I had surgery).
San Diego is a really cool town, but just keep in mind the reason for your trip. Don't do anything that might even have the remote possibility of slowing down the healing process. (I went to London to get my second surgery and I spent 4 of my 5 days there in a dark room - I did take one of those double decker bus tours on the last day). You can see the sights when you go to San Dog on a cross country.
If you must go somewhere, there is a cool little aviation museum at Balboa Park (indoors = no sunlight, no wind, etc.)
Hmm, okay, I guess I will be staying inside for 3 days. I guess it's difficult for me because when I'm not doing engineering homework, I prefer to be out doing things. I think the reason I have to do PRK in the first place is because I was an idiot and decided to major in engineering. I had 20/20(ish) when I was a freshman!
But anyways, we are going back the following weekend for my 1 week checkup. I should be able to drive and be outside by then, right...?

My vision went from 20/20-20/25 to 20/40 in 3 years at ERAU....damn computers and MATLAB...

My mother seems to be flipped out that I'm not nervous about my eye surgery. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to worry about. There's not much I can do about it, so...what should I be worrying about?

Well that was a really shitty weekend. I knew it was going to suck, but that really sucked.
I was 20/25 yesterday (20/60 pre-op)...which would have been 4 days post-op. Right side is definitely better today. Driving wasn't too bad.
Anybody know what the alcohol policy is with PRK? I could really go for a beer.
