It's on the MAP, and VAQ is in high demand. I think they're going with 144 vice 143 though.
Any idea if they are going to use the VA-144 (formerly VA-116) logo? Looks like 144 are the Roadrunners?

No idea. What the patch looks like is the least important consideration, IMO.

Don’t discount how important symbolism and pride to folks serving to include a ‘cool’ patch, especially if it has some history behind it and the unit it symbolizes.

While on Das Boot, this topic (or one very similar to it) came up in a random ready room bull session involving one of Brett's predecessors in office. Specifically talking about 128, and whether the community would ever consider resurrecting any other VA lineages, given our A-6 airframe.

As I recall, his words were to the effect of "there's a reason they called them 'fucking Intruder guys . . .'" :p

I know, I know, we are talking about more important stuff...but lineage and past honors are a critical element of long-term success in any military organization. Reinstating old squadrons, with their storied histories, can give a brand new line up of people almost immediate purpose.

There were more than a few old Intruder types that would make the occasional disparaging remarks about VAQ-128 besmirching the fine lineage of the 'Golden Intruders'. They were supposedly in jest but many had a little bit of a bite to them. Maybe next time you shouldn't bet your community's future on a flying dorito....

Here you go...a true aviation catch; 2 seagulls, 2 MV-22’s, and some guy from The SHOW sorting out airspace over the Woodrow Wilson Bridge. Look closely.

Here are the MV-22’s heading toward DC.
