Advice on improving my OAR score

Dominique

So I took the OAR exam today and scored a 37. I did not put a lot of effort into studying as I should have, but I am in a demanding Master's program which made studying for the OAR difficult.

A little about myself. My undergraduate degree is in Psychology (Bachelor of Science) and I am currently getting a Master's degree in Social Work. My undergraduate GPA is 3.81 and my current GPA for my Master's program is 4.0. I do a variety of service learning work (volunteer work), and I am set to graduate from my Master's program in May 2017.

I want to apply for SWO and my OR said I need at least a 45 OAR score to qualify. Any recommendations for studying or studying materials? I plan on retaking the exam late Jan, and study for about 2-4 hours each day for the entire month of Dec (since school is out for the holiday break for 5 weeks). This score is definitely embarrassing, but I am determined to increase my score past 45.

Definitely worth it to head over to the ASTB threads. A simple search can yield plenty of results from people in very similar situations. Go to Amazon, order the study guides and think about ordering the ARCO GRE/GMAT math study guide to brush up on your math. I'm assuming you haven't been enrolled in math class since high school or freshman year of college so I highly recommend it.

this is good information because I'm in the same boat scored a 36 and i studied but i feel the material i study was no help at all like it was the wrong material because the book i used was crap the officers for dummies. When i took the test a lot of stuff was not what i study it was like i took a foreign test. But I'm going to use this materials if there is more let me know

I used the Barron's Study Books for the ASTB. I studied them for 2 weeks, took the practice tests in them until I was comfortable with all the problems and I got a 5/7/6 50. Ya, that's not great, but I'm not that smart either. That was in 2007, but not much changes with those tests or the study materials. Good luck.

Step 1: Use capital letters and puncuation so it doesn't look like a 7 year old just posted on Air Warriors.
