Med read came back as unwarranted for further processing. Recruiter 'is not going to take no for an answer' and do some investigation but I'm going to be realistic and say it's probably not happening, certainly not this board, likely not ever. I wish only the best of luck to everyone here.

What was the disqualifying factor? Did they tell you? I’m really sorry to hear that, man.

Three different things but we didn't expect them to get a flat-out rejection. Definitely expected a request for more tests. I spoke with NavyOffRec and TimeBomb about some options and my recruiter is doing leg work, too. One is optimistic and the other is not. Waiting on what my recruiter turns up and I'll go from there. Pretty disheartening but I'm not giving up til he tells me I must.

Keep your head up dude. Stay positive and like you said don’t take no for an answer. I’m going to meps tomorrow to retake my eye exam. Pretty scary stuff but I feel the same way as you do. We need to fight for this until we get that yes!

Sorry to hear that man, never quit! I think it's an intentionally difficult process to weed out those who don't have the determination to keep pushing until they get an answer. I'm right there with you.

I've had my fair share of trials trying to even get my package into a board. Started the process in college, but I had a job lined up in NYC after graduation so I put it on the back burner. Realized real quick a desk job is not how I want to spend my 20s and 30s, so last year I picked it back up and started working with a recruiter in the NYC area. Things were moving along until he left the command before my kit was ready...I hadn't even gone to MEPs yet (former ankle surgery required further documentation) so I never made it to a board. A couple months of purgatory went by until the new LT came along and promised to move it forward. I kept getting the, "yeah I'm checking into it..."..."haven't gotten you a date for MEPs yet" until he became unresponsive for about a month. This past Christmas comes and goes, I call the command, and I am informed that HE (new LT) also left the command, and that they can't find my file. Great. So I'm basically back to square one save for my ASTB scores.

About a month ago I started over with a new recruiter out of NRS Baltimore, friend of a friend, he's great. All of my forms are ready, MEPs is scheduled for first week in April at Walter Reed...driving down from NYC. Hoping this time around I might finally get to a board and receive an answer, but we shall see. Best of luck...

Well, Chief called me back all excited and had me come in. He's got a whole plan about how to approach this and brought another recruiter on-board to help us through the complexities. Pretty amazing to have so much support, so I won't be backing down just yet. Got some evaluations to do and some more records to collect. It'll be a while but I'll keep you all posted. Definitely won't make this board but maybe I'll make one another day. Thanks for the words of encouragement and best of luck!
