23 May 18 Pilot/NFO Selection Board

My OR seems to think there will be a early-select "mini-board" in the month of March if there are enough candidates that qualify for the early-select and want to ship before the May board. This is not confirmed but seems to be a possibility

Have you already submitted everything to your recruiter and gotten the SF86 rolling along? If so, add your name to the spreadsheet

For what it’s worth, here’s what my recruiter said in regard to an early board:

“It is purely based on needs of the Navy. As soon as they have enough packages they often run special boards to fill slots for the spring. Your package is at the program manager for review now. If they hold a special board you will be at it.”

Good luck to all who are already submitted, if indeed this early board does occur!

Yes, submitted everything two weeks ago and the SF86 is rolling as well. I'm in the same boat as @Fteeter here with my package at the program manager level now. Added myself to the spreadsheet too

I don't want to put the cart before the horse but I've been taking in Appendix B the last couple days. Does anyone know of a halfway tolerable version of "Anchors aweigh (away)"? I'm trying to learn it like I do Beyonce but I can't make 30 seconds into the song.

Spend more time enjoying life, less time learning Anchors Aweigh.

It’s not a graded item, mumble/hum through it like the rest of us until you learn it...

What would you suggest memorizing then? I've heard pretty much everything in it was fair game.

I am finally cleared to apply for this board! I have been trying to finalize my application since September 2017. I do have one question, I selected Pilot/NFO as #1 and #2. I failed the depth perception exam at MEPS but passed it twice after that. The only difference is, I passed the RanDot and Stereo Fly exams, I haven't re-taken the one they perform at MEPS. It seems the other two are way easier than the one at MEPS. My OR said my selection percentage is 91% for pilot and 98% for NFO. Should I keep NFO as a second option in case I fail the exam at OCS or just go for pilot?

DO NOT APPLY NFO UNLESS YOU ARE willing to be one.
