Nice! I'm right next door in Chesapeake, so there will be at least a couple of us representing 757 in this class

My admin department said I'd get advance pay for the drive and per diem. I filled out the paperwork last week.

I'm also working on the gouge, doesn't seem too bad so far. I imagine the procedures will be something that we learn on the go, particularly the chow hall procedures.

My orders say the same thing, but the OCS website says to report on the Sunday closest to your orders date. http://www.ocs.navy.mil/check_in.asp You can always just call the OCS quarterdeck to double check to give yourself a nice warm and fuzzy, though.

Hey guys, Just found this thread. Reporting for the July 8th class. My orders also said report NLT 07July, but I spoke with the people at OCS and they said to just report the 8th. Been trying to study some of the gouge, also heard to study how to describe officer warfare pins. I have a lot of officers here who were prior OCS grads so getting a lot of information from them on what to expect.

I am driving up from Maryland. If anyone wants to get together the night before let me know.

So according to my recruiter, they just reduced some quotas and I was one of the unlucky ones to get bumped out of this class down into the July 29th class. Anyone else have this problem? Kinda sucks, being so close. Guess I'll be using this time to be even better prepared. Good luck everyone, I'll see you (in passing, most likely) at Newport!

    NFO sel/24/m/non prior

Originally from San Diego, graduated San Diego State University in '10. I will be flying out of San Antonio on 7Jul.

I was told by my recruiter after receiving my orders that when I arrive they would have a place for me to stay. I see that the website says to make accommodations if you are arriving early, and it seems like most people have had to make their own reservations. Anyone else been told this?

I was given the number for the Newport Chalet, as they have a contract with the Navy to house people with orders.

Graduated University of Illinois fall 2010. Just wanted to see how everyone is doing pertaining to the studying of the gauge, and outside of the 'Big 3' (Code of Conduct, Chain of Command, General Rules of a Sentry) what you guys are memorizing verbatim.

Yeah, I was informed that I would be going earlier in the month, then that I wouldn't be because I was an alternate. But they just got my FS letter yesterday and I swore in today. I'm just glad to know I'm going :)

Anybody else doing a PT test before reporting? I thought those were by the wayside but my recruiter just called and is having me meet a chief at the local high school track on Monday. Something tells me this is not standard but I'm not about to question it at this point either, it would just lead them to suspect I was not prepared.

I did a PT test yesterday, my recruiter said it's something new they're doing.

    Did they do height/weight?

Trying to decide how much I can eat this weekend/how much water I can drink before I do the test in 100 deg temps, 10% humidity and at 4,200 feet. Haha. I'm well under max weight for my height but I'm using the max weight for 1" shorter in my own mind, just in case.

Hydrate, even if he is taking height/weight. That's more important than looking good on the scale.

They didn't do height/weight, it was basically a PRT. 1.5 treadmill run (I hate treadmills), situps, pushups, and they made sure I could touch my toes.

    Here's a helpful article on pre-workout nutrition I've found useful: http://suite101.com/article/preworkout-nutrition-a74025

    Good luck!
