The path you take to get to human intel? Put it number one on your MOS preference list at TBS. You have to do pretty well if you want a chance of getting it. Let her know that a typical TBS company (280 LT's) will only have around 2 human intel slots.

Reserve officers go through the same training and MOS school as the rest of us. I don't think anybody would claim to know everything after only OCS, TBS, and MOS school. I know I don't.

In my 4 years there, there was never a non-reg in NROTC. I don't know if it is possible or not, I'm just saying it never happened. The exception being 5th years who already finished the corps, as well as the STA-21 and MECEP guys.

I can't remember what the minimums were. But I would see fat freshmen fail it all the time and they were never kicked out. I just realized you are a galveston guy... I don't really know what the rules are over there but I can't imagine they are much different.

Are you actually joining the corps of cadets with a military contract? If you are, you will have to pass the minimums or you will be put on remedial. If you don't have a contract, its no big deal. Freshmen can't be kicked out for failing the pft. Just keep working at it. Good luck at FOW...

I commissioned in May of 09 and got my orders for A Co (October 2009) the day I commissioned. One guy in my platoon got orders 2-3 weeks before he showed up to TBS, but he was a law contract, so that might be a special circumstance.

in recent years, most companys have started with 290-300 Lt's. My company showed up with about 330 Lt's so around 30 got cut. several of them had medical issues preventing them from picking up anyway. As long as you get a decent pt score, and don't bomb the swim qual you will be fine
