Was the F-14 the last US built aircrart with ejection handles behind the pilots head?

I've heard on this forum and elsewhere that marine hornet squadrons are being deployed more often now on aircraft carriers. If a particular squadron is flying trapped out navy hornets, how would they get carrier qualified? I'm just curious.

I think the Corps has a few 2 seat harriers to train harrier pilots. But they are only in training squadrons. Not in the fleet. Any Harrier drivers want to verify this?

Good point. I'd think that if the Corps was to get them when they came out in 70's,the skinny landing gears could be replaced with stronger ones and the airframes could be stressed for carrier ops.

Cool pics. I saw the same airshow when they were here at Westover Air Reserve Base in Westfield,ma. The Goshawks were static displays, but I hung around long enough to see then take off to leave on the final day. Had a nice chat with the SNA and IP.

I did too when I was at The Citadel. One time we had to PT in the rain and cold,but the AFROTC cadets decided it was better to go to the auditorium to listen to an Air Force General give a speech. I think they laughed at us as they marched single file to the auditorium

Does Anyone know the rationale behind allowing all officers to have college degree(warrant officers not withstanding) and why only officers can be pilots. There obiviously is a proven track record both here and with foreign militaries that enlisted men can fly just as good and sometimes better...

That's a good deal. Do you know if one gets to pick where to go or its just take what you can get. Also will fluency in a foreign language get one what one wants? I have five languages under my belt and would definitely be interested in that when the time comes.
