Just wanted to post a quick thank you to all of you, our trip to SD was awesome and it was great to get back there. We stayed at a vacation rental condo in Oceanside and spent a ton of our time on the beach. We made it to Puestos for carnitas and you weren't kidding Croakerfish and PhrogLoop...

Scooters Forever (A-4 Skyhawk Tribute Thread)

Thought I'd post this short vid I took of Paul Wood's vintage A-4B launching from NMKE on 22 June. The a/c was here for the Milwaukee Air & Water Show which was a total wash due to weather. It painted to represent aircraft BuNo 148609, an A-4C flown by LCDR Ted "T.R." Swartz, of VA-76, operating...

    Visiting San Diego

Looking for some advise on good spots to hit while on vacation in the SD area. I was stationed at KNKX in the early 90's but didn't have a car so my "sightseeing" of the SD AOR was pretty limited. The Midway Museum is on the list as well as a Padres game at Petco Park. We'll be there over the...

Here's the video of it taxiing on deck, it's pretty long. Now I have a question or two; the Fly 1 dude is directing an unmanned a/c but the pilot is standing behind him controlling it, is the dude in the "bag" and cranial, assuming he's the pilot actually watching the director? Couldn't the...

Harrier Dude, Re. the paint job; is that how they'll have to be maintained, it looks very "Chair Force-ish." Of course the "brains" at Lockheed took corrosion control into account for both the bravo and charlie, we don't operate in controlled environments like the Air Farce. Anyway just...

The chic in that vid used to be on SNL with Farley and Sadler. Now all the drunks I encounter on the job choose Steel Reserve malt liquor rather than MD 20/20, Steelies are for the more afluent of drunks I suppose, well that and it has 8.1% alcohol.

Very cool! I have a 1/48 scale Fury waiting to be built but decals for that aircraft are tough to come by, VA-94 would be perfect, if I could find them. I was on the last West Pac in Enterprise with CVW-11 and VA-94, that was their last cruise in A-7E's. Thanks for the gouge sir!
