Likewise. The officer's ability to deal with their bullshit is outstanding! I would have been far less tolerant....what a bunch of assclowns.

Can History Majors be Fighter Pilots?

When I was new to this site, I had some kind souls point me in the right direction. I’ll do my best to help you along. We ask that you use the search function your questions, and if you can’t find the answer in the wealth of information here, by all means post away. Now, in regards to your...

For your first flight, the most import thing is to just enjoy the experience man. There will be plenty of time down the road for the more advanced stuff. During my first lesson, my CFI and I just worked on basic stuff such as taxiing, controlling airspeed / altitude, trim, and turns.

Good news here as well. Just got off the horn with my recruiter, and was told that I have a tentative OCS date of September 23. My FS letter is in the works, and I should have it in a couple of days!

Spoke with my recruiter today, still waiting on my FS. I was PQ'd and completed my security clearance process a couple months before the board. I don't mind the wait, it'll come in due time. Just curious, are you a non-prior?

Hmmmmm. This makes sense after re-reading the form; I just found it ambiguous. Disregard my last bit of advice and carry on.

Your MEPS paperwork said "Pass" and you received a letter grade of "C" right? Maybe I'm reading the standards wrong, but I think you're fine here. The link I posted earlier says that the passing range for the AFVT (which I'm assuming is the test you took) is A-D. I interpret A-D to mean scores...

According to the Navy's waiver guide: "Must pass any one of the following three tests: (1) AFVT: at least A – D with no misses. (2) Stereo booklet (Titmus Fly or Randot): 40 arc second circles. (3) Verhoeff: 8/8 corrent on the first trial or, if any are missed, 16/16 correct on the combined...

1,001 questions about the ASTB (post your scores & ask your questions here!)

That's a solid score. Not sure I would risk it, but to each his own. I just put in for the April board with PRK. I didn't have to jump through any kind of crazy hoops to get a waiver. Never sent any special paperwork to NAMI or anything like that. I just included all of my pre-ops, surgical...

1,001 questions about the ASTB (post your scores & ask your questions here!)

The Barron's book will get you pointed in the right direction, but isn't the best resource. Many of the SA questions found in the Barron's book are incorrect/misprints and will only cause confusion. The Arco book is more helpful for this section, but I found the actual test SA questions to be...

    Getting PRK

I'm 3 months post-op, went from 20/200 to 20/15. Your vision WILL level out, it just varies from person to person. I remember all those eye drops! Thing of the past now, thank God... My doc used mitomycin during my procedure, but for the prevention of corneal haze (as I'm from FL, UV light...

    Chances at OCS selection?

I appreciate the advice! I'll mosey on down to my recruiting district ASAP and see if I can't get the ball rolling sooner.

    Chances at OCS selection?

I was told by the recruiters that I shouldn't start the paperwork until I'm fully recovered from PRK. Which given the 6 months required for the waiver, and my surgery date in June, I should be able to start the process this upcoming December.

    Chances at OCS selection?

Hello All, I’m a college Junior, who is strongly considering the Navy as my career choice. I’ll be applying for OCS within a year or so, and wanted to get some honest opinions outside of a recruiter’s office. My degree will be in International Affairs, and I’ll graduate with around a...

Path to becoming a Naval Intel Officer?

Hello all, I'm currently enrolled at Florida State University, and am pursuing my BS in Psychology. To be honest, I'm a little unsure of my future career path. I have the GPA, test scores, and letters of recommendation to pursue my PhD if I choose to do so. However, becoming a Naval Intel...
