Well, just found out non-select for Intel for the second time. My recruiter thinks I should give it another go, but I am ready to sign an enlisted contract and get on with my life. Maybe give OCS a try after a few years enlisted. Unfortunately, I have to wait on a dependency waiver because I...

Just about all Universities will take transfer students from Community/City Colleges regardless having taken the SAT/ACT, granted your GPA is high enough. When I was looking at transferring from Community College to a 4 year School Only Columbia University wanted me to take a standardized test...

Ask your recruiter before you assume that they are preffered/suggested because both my processor and OR brought this up when it was time to put the finishing touches on the kit. At any rate, if you don't have them because you never took them, then I don't think they would hold that against...

They are required for BDCP applicants, but not required for regular OCS applicants, however if you have good scores it will definitely bode well for you. You can address why you did not include them in the comments section if you are worried about not including them. I for one never took the...

I took the ASVAB this evening, scored a 95 and qualified for every enlisted job that does not have an age requirement. I don't know why the ASTB gave me such a hard time, it didn't seem like there was much difference in the types of questions in the Math, and Mechanical Comp Sections. I'm...

Hopefully the April Intel results will come out before the May boards convene.... The strains of anticipation, plus I have final exams this week, I just want to know one way or another so that its out of my mind. Arrgh.

:D Yeah, then I take it you are familiar with the Navy's unofficial Motto "Hurry up and wait":icon_smil Hopefully you will hear back sooner than others in that case, although some posts I have read leave me with the impression that a lot of the waiting is just a matter of having your kit sit on...

Final Selects usually take anywhere between 1-3 months after Pro Rec, sometimes longer if there are problems with getting the background check rolling, or waiver issues. I am still waiting on the April Board Intel results I don't think final selects will be happening anytime soon.

I am trying so hard to have patience, I saw some pics of the flooding of the Naval Air Base in Millington, it looks to me like that base is going to be out of commission for a while. I can't imagine what all the people who live on the base must be going through, especially those with families...

So there is truth to that post, its just that only a few specific boards were canceled or closed out. Its the reason why I am only applying to INTEL and nothing else, my recruiter says SWO-IP, and Supply are closed out until July. I think the original poster could have been more specific, as...

I noticed a couple names on a white board labeled PRT in my recruiters officer had "failed" next to them, and it had me wondering the same question. I got the same story also from the San Francisco Enlisted Recruiting station, although they are going to take me down to meps, have me take the ASVAB and see what they can do for me anyways. They say if I can find a job, it won''t be available till next year and I would have to DEP, in which...

Yeah, I have been at this for a lil over 8 months now, and I remember a few from January who had been trying for over 2 years. Still its always hard to stay focused at this part of the month when you know the results could hit you any moment.

Bad to go to MEPS with a hangover? Can it affect bloodwork results?

The ethanol disposal rate in a 150-pound human is about 0.5 ounce of ethanol per hour, which corresponds to 12 ounces of beer (1 can), 4 ounces of wine (1 glass), or once ounce of hard liquor (one shot). So, depending on how much you've had to drink, you can calculate how long it will take to...

    January 010 Boards!!!

From what you stated, you are already are on the path of accomplishing your primary objective, why chance throwing it out the window. Unless you can without a doubt reapply for SNA without losing the the NFO Pro Rec, I would stay the course. Have you asked your recruiter?

Pretty much how I imagine it going down. I'm not too worried about the details, once you send in your Kit everything is out of your hands regardless of how they go about it.
  35. T

It either means what mjulian posted above or that the board was compelled to give your kit more consideration before deciding your fate, for whatever reason, at the next month's board.

I'm betting your recruiter's list is only a projection, they don't know who is seen until the results are out and uploaded to Otools. I think in most cases, the recruiters will go as far as to tell you that your Kit made it to Millington and is waiting to be viewed by the next board. Things can change within days of a scheduled Board my recruiter tells me, often a Board can be pushed back till the next month for various...

Yeap, 800+. But that is partly because there was no board held in December, it was basically two months worth of applicants. If you cut that number in half its still a huge number relative to the amount of applicants pro rec'd.
  42. T

    April 2010 Boards

When I applied for Intel in January there were over 800 applicants, only 13 selected and 3 of them were fleet applicants. There was maybe 9 Intel Applicants posting their stats on airwarriors or navyocs portal, of those nine, two of us were selected, one fleet applicant, and one civilian applicant.

This seems like a super small board judging by the number of people posting their stats. I bet another Pint of Dogfish Head that there is about 100 lurkers out their not owning up to being seen at this board.

Any Intel Officers around the Atlanta area?

Interviews are only required for prior service and current active duty applicants, it is "optional" for civilian applicants, although my OR highly recommended having them if I thought I could get 10's on them. From what I have gathered on other threads, submitting anything short of a perfect...

Yeah, the nice thing about the Guard is they will guarantee your branch of choice and your unit in your contract. Oh and the $10K Officer Bonus is a plus too.
