If you enjoyed it, i'd check out the book "EL Dorado Canyon". It's a great account of not only the mission but the politics/actions pre and post strike. Really gives a great prospective of the relationship between the West ( mostly from a US standpoint) and Libya.

If you are willing to travel a bit North... look into Dr Alexander in Appleton, Wisconsin. He did my eyes two years ago and is a pioneer in laser correction. He also is the guy for most of the Packers/Brewers/Bucks that get their eyes done in Wisco. Still have 20/15 to this day. Just my 2 cents.

In -86 you select about 3ish months into it. Guys who go Prowlers go straight to the T-45. Guys who select Boeing (Growler/Rhinos) go though the Strike Fighter portion of training before going to the T-45.
