PEP tour in Germany—Worth a shot, or just a pipe dream?

You have a higher percentage chance of being an Olmstead Scholar than you do of getting a PEP slot. Additionally, what PEP locations you can go to are based on what community you end up in, so unless you can predict the future... Seriously though, Olmstead is a great deal...info here...

    KBHM A300 Mishap

I don't know, I thought the real high point was "I heard three booms... like boom, boom, boom."

    KBHM A300 Mishap

This one's going to be interesting. Like any Meridian guy, I've been in and out of there quite a bit and given the limited description of the mishap, this one sounds strange. http://www.cnn.com/2013/08/14/us/alabama-cargo-plane-crash/index.html?hpt=hp_t2

    Booking Hotels in Germany/Austria

Just a suggestion but...generally speaking I've found better places to stay when I was boots on ground than by internet months ahead of time. My advice? If you are staying in a major metro area (Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich) reserve a room there...if you are roaming the countryside, eyeball the...

P-8 fires Harpoon, hits big orange net.....

This is literally, the summation of my P-3 experience. Good riddance. People here complain about how "non-intuitive" the HOTAS is or how difficult such and such menu is...I just laugh.

    BZ to VP-30!!

Uhhhh...methinks you have that backwards. This was just P-8 going back to its roots...just because the paint job is boring doesn't mean it's not an airliner.

How Often do Naval Aviators Fly?

I'd be the first to admit that 1500 or so of those hours were boring as hell. I'd also say that the day to day quality of flying was part of the reason I transitioned. That said, in that 100 hours or so that are left, I promise you, we had more than our fair share of impact and I have no...

X-47B UCAS-D gets first trap at NAS Pax River | Video

    Shotgun Advice

The less recoil thing is a consideration and is certainly an advantage. However, my preference in sporting clays is for a double (over/under) of some flavor because of the simple fact that you have two chokes instantly available. Any good clays course will at some point force you to make a...

    Shotgun Advice

Can't give you good advice here without some clarification. Trap and skeet are completely different games, and the shotguns used for them are substantially different as well. Usually when people say they are "getting into trap and skeet" they mean they are "starting to shoot some clays...

    STA-21 Help

My thinking here when talking to my sailors etc... The first question the board has to answer is "Can this person finish college." There are a couple ways they can answer that depending on the record. First, SAT/ACT scores. Kill them and the board may have its answer. (When I say kill them...

It does...however, if you're landing anywhere other than the boat in shitty weather, your shooting a PAR. I see your point with the BS approaches to South Field, but about 75% of the approached I've shot to mins were PAR's and that wasn't by choice. Maybe PAR's until MIF met would be a...
