FY 2016 STA-21 Applicants

Hey Zues crease toast.
I was a SWO(IP) alternate in FY-13. I'd suggest working towards achieving some civilian certifications such as A+, Network+, and Security+. Navy cool offers vouchers for some rates. Just some food for thought.
Thanks, I'll take that into consideration.

Also, why did your eval go down to an MP from EP? Was this due to a promotion?
Yeah I made E4, which was weird cause when I made E5 I got an EP...

Hey Zues crease toast.
I'm obviously very junior but I would suggest taking more classes. They want to see that you can complete your degree in 3 years, and most of your credits will not transfer to whatever NROTC college you go to. And take calculus 1 and 2 if you can.
I'm working on college now, already knocked out calculus. That's if they accept my AP Exam credit from high school.

HIGH SCHOOL: 2.5 GPA (Honors/AP)

LORs: 2 (College Prof's) 2 (DIVO and Department Head) 1 (Related Agency Civilian, Former Naval Officer)

MISC: As a CTN I currently work in an enlisted equivalent of this field and thus meet or exceed the clearance requirements.

Note - AA was completed without using any SMART credits, so I have a combined 111 credits although no college will really accept all of those credits from JST/SMART. The AA should be fully transferable however.

This is my first time putting a package together, I'm uncertain as to whether or not my stats are competitive for the program, any input would be greatly appreciated.

If FY16 is anything like the previous three years, there is probably going to be a "Zero Select Opportunity" for the IW option. But I guess you never know, at least not until they release the FY16 NAVADMIN.

I recall looking at the STA-21 website in the past and it specifically said they weren't taking IW/Intel but I didn't notice it on there this time.

I did see that only one IW has been chosen in the past three years. I'll probably put in for a different program and hope for a possible transfer to the IW field at some point in the future.

As it stands, my goal is to be a Naval Officer first and foremost.

Thank you for the info/advice.

No, the only warfare pin we are authorized to get is the ESWS. As an Aegis FC, we are only able to work on Cruisers and Destroyers.
