If I'm understanding, not a lot has changed for IRR types. Some courses might be worth less since they're basing point values on hours...for example Basic Math 14139 is worth 22 pts but only requires 66 hours of instruction...so does that mean the new point value will be 66/4 = 16.5 pts ?

Not sure I agree; In the IRR, since we can't log in to "see" our points, I always felt there was a certain amount of security in them being electronically transmitted. For Blue & Gold Officer, funeral honors, and NKO (when I could do them), I have come to accept that I'll only get 60%-70% of the points I've earned...especially since I can't figure out which points I'm missing, it's tough to send in proof (I've tried shotgunning it, and got a call from BUPERS telling me many were already submitted and to please not double submit).

It seems to me it's a solution where there was no problem. Was there some group of Sailors making out like bandits, getting all sorts of extra points??

I hadn't considered that aspect VXC. Not sure what this is in response too...feels kind of passive aggressive. Combine this with the CAC only access on a lot of sites and it's starting to feel like someone doesn't want me to get to retirement...wait, that's crazy talk.

I just got off the phone with Pers-912 lead clerk, he stated that in Oct, their will only be 600 courses to earn pts compared to the 1000s we have now. When asked what courses, he said the list should be coming out and 'hopefully the reserve community will make sure everyone is informed."

No one knows what is going on at Pers. When questioned why i got some pts and not others, they asked for proof that I passed my anniversary.

I wonder if usmc courses via marinent will still get credit. Doesn't sound promising...

EASY MONEY!!! I ripped through this course...it's FAST...and somewhat interesting. Hunt and peck, phrase recognition almost entirely in order.

I also completed the following courses:

14008A AD Aviation Machinist Mate 17 pts....took more time then Personnell Specialist
14014A Airman 18 pts...not bad
14022 AMR 11 pts...kind of painful but not overly so. A lot of stuff on Nalcomis.

Yup...I just did this in two days (actual time, probably a few hours?). It actually got me depressed. I could have erased one of my "bad" years with like two hours of work.

Great course (for the points, and for learning some stuff I probably should know).

Just did "Enlisted Aide", for 8 pts (I'm trying to crank out a few courses, since I'm not sure what will be available on Oct 1st). Pretty easy, and actually kind of interesting too. I always wondered to put my oyster fork...

I remember seeing this course and the high point value a while back and thinking, "No way am I touching that...too painful." Talk about being wrong.

The new list of 'approved' courses is out. I have it in XLS format- Any way to attach it here?
Notes:
1) Looks like the DAU CLx modules are still intact, and credited at their normal values.
2) Anyone tried the FEMA courses?

That would be great! You can go to the upper right hand corner of the page and log-in. Then when replying to this thread use the "upload a file" button at the lower right corner of the reply/messaging window. Thank you!

Okay...here's this list in PDF format. The most "curious" thing about the list is that there are NO NETC courses listed. I just spoke with NETC on the phone and they are aware of the issue, but only found out about it last night when the list hit the street. So, NETC is working the issue with PERS. I believe both PERS and NETC are fully aware of the fact that NETC is the only site IRR/NON-CAC's can log into. So they understand the problem and why folks are pretty concerned. To be quite honest, NETC was very helpful. I also think that we might be seeing first hand yet another instance of a solution being implemented before it's completely thought through. The NETC help desk has my request for information on hand and said they will be getting back to me. She could not promise how soon since the solution to the problem requires working with PERS and other parts of the Navy, but she said it would happen. I will update as more information becomes available.
