Filling out the packet

First time filling out an officer packet and I want to make sure I'm doing this correctly; my questions are:

-On pg. 2/4 under applicant remarks (at the bottom of the page) right before your actual motivational statement; what do applicants who have been picked up usually say? Would it be recommended to fill this part out and if so what is usually stated?

-On page 4/4 there are three spaces for officer remarks/officer process summary/recruiting officer remarks... does this get filled out after one submits the packet or before?

-I know I would have to get a recommendation letter from my commanding officer and my chief (as I am currently enlisted); are there any other recommendation letters I should acquire before turning everything in?

any advice help would be greatly appreciated! :)

It gets filled out afterwards. There's basically a separate form (or the same form on that page...I can't remember) that gets filled out for the officer remarks/recommendations.

You’re filling out the wrong form.

Being that you’re a fleet applicant talk to your CCC to get assistance. You should be using the FLEET OCS CHECKLIST by the way...

Thank you! my career counselor on the ship is a chief so she's not too sure about officer applications. She did email me the opnavinst 1420 officer programs direction that does contain links for the respectable programs, however the link to the OCS officer application doesn't work/load correctly. If you can send me the right link it would be greatly appreciated :). I'm going to re-take the OAR at the end of July and hopefully someone there can help me get a hold of the right form as well. Below I have attached the OPNAVINST 1420 I have saved on my desktop.

If you go to the NPC commissioning programs you can find everything you need.

I have gone onto this site before but the applications do not open correctly and the application linked to the OPNAVINST 1420 my CCC sent me won't either this is why I had to resort to the application I am working on now. The link states to have the most updated form of adobe on your computer; and I do. I have even tried opening this application on the ship and at Fleet and family where this a Senior chief tried helping me to open it. If you have a resolution to this application please let me know. I will attach what was sent to me through my CCC. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

Unfortunately, this seems to be a common trend. When I asked my CCC for advice they printed the 1420 as well. The 1420 and Fleet Applicant Checklist is a great place to start but it leaves MANY questions unaswered. Things that would have been quite helpful throughout the process. For example....the medical screening. Once you complete all required forms (2808, 2807, 2807-2) along with all attachments (labs, HIV, EKG, etc...) you can send that in to the Fleet Processor to be reviewed by medical (N3M) for approval. Once you are approved by medical, that physical is good for 2 years. I didn't have that guidance so I ended up doing the medical paperwork 3 times because of the 90 day expiration. The best resource as a Fleet Applicant is finding a mentor that recently completed the process themselves. Good luck, and please feel free to keep asking questions. Everyone is here to help!

Actually my husband just figured it out, Incase anyone else asks you or run into problems in the future, when using google chrome if you go into settings select how you view PDF files and select download directly instead of view in web browser. Thank you so much for your time and help I am greatly appreciative!

Strongly recommend you read Chapter 4, and Appendices C and H from the 1420 in their entirety first.
Then, submit a chit through your CoC (up to CO) requesting permission to submit an OCS package per the OPNAVINST 1420.1B.
The chit may/may not technically be required but it will look good and is a great way to let the important people know that you are serious about it.

I cannot believe how many places on the internet are asking this exact question and looking for this exact answer. It took me forever to find this specific answer. Just to help, here is the PDF.

Good morning all,
I am getting to the tail end of my application to jump into my officer interviews towards SWO. I have two questions;

1. I already have a personal statement that's 480 words long. Is that too long, do I still need to fill in the top half of page 7/14 with ANOTHER personnel statement, and if I ONLY NEED ONE; will the board be picky about it being 480 instead of the 200-250 limit?

2. I am aiming to submit my package for the February 2021 SWO board. I am Active Duty with almost 5 years in; I will be 33 in January 2021, will the age waiver be accepted for my SWO package? (I know/understand Chapter 4's no later than 29th birthday with a 24 month waiver/31st birthday upon commission)
