CEC Reserves DCO Selection Board

The FY17 Board Schedule lists boards for:

Reserve O-8 Staff
Reserve O-7 Staff
Reserve CEC Command
Command-Non Command (Reserve) "APPLY" Board

Would it be one of these? My recruiter said the board was pushed, but if I don't know what it's called I can't track it.

They just did a board in May. If you do a search on this site, not NPC, you will get a lot more information on accession boards rather than promotion boards.

Thank you for the reply.

I should have heard something, I was pro-boarded in Jan. When I contact my recruiter I get a "nothing yet."

Does this mean I was not selected?

What would the best search terms be? "CEC Reserve Accession board?"

If you were pro boarded in Jan then "no news is bad news"

Pretty much. If your package was seen at the May board, which would have been the first and only board since January, and you haven't heard back, it isn't a good sign. Take this to PM with me.

Hello...new to the forum and sorry for hijacking an old thread, just not alot of info out there on Reserve CEC. I applied for Navy Reserve CEC over a year ago and I just received a call from my recruiter two weeks ago that i have been selected. He told me he was no longer an O recruiter and that I would be receiving a call/more info from someone in a few weeks. I havent heard anything yet, even texted him with no response. Do i just wait?

Thx. C

Congrats on selection!

It's going to seem like an information blackout for a while, but hang in there. I'd recommend reaching out to the NOSC/Recruiting station that handled your kit about once every 10-14 days, just to keep communication going. There's a period between selection and commissioning where big Navy has to generate a lot of paperwork on your behalf (commissioning documents, a.k.a. COMDOCS). Once these are ready to go, you should get a call/email/text asking when you'd like to swear-in.

My process took about 10 weeks from selection until my COMDOCS were ready for signing; YMMV...

I am applying to the CEC board for this year and was wonderimg what is the likelihood of getting accepted. I know rates are relatively low for all dco positions however my OR is basically saying not very good with my bachelor's. Have a B.S. in Nuc Eng Tech (ABET), M.S. Eng MGMT. All excellent grades. EIT/EI in industrial engineering. Prior enlisted sub nuke ET. Still working in power generation sector.

I was looking towards EDO or CEC however based on the PA for EDO i have 0% chance there, so I turned 100% focus towards CEC expeditionary engineering and facilities management looks very promising towards my PE. My OR is reluctant to move forward without getting waivers from the OCM. I am highly motivated (In fact i had to walk my OR through the DCO process) and dedicated looking forward to another new career in the NAVY. Just wondering if my hopes/expectations could be too high.
Im even thinking if going back to school just for EAC-ABET degree to bypass the Tech issue with CEC and EDO.
