For how many universities will you apply? And why in the world would you go to UF (my wife just gave me the "sideways glance" since she is from Gainesville)? I was admitted into the University of Colorado at Boulder; however, I have been enrolled at University of Colorado at Colorado Springs for the past year and a half so Boulder kinda had to take me.

I applied for UF because they have a computer science/ Liberal arts major. Im hoping that I can still get my CS degree and that a lot of my liberal arts classes that I've already done will transfer over.

I'll probably apply to at least 5 or 6 school in hope of finding one that will guarantee that I will be able to graduate in time to meet the requirements.

Makes sense. You're a better man than I for doing CS. There are quite a few former Navy people at UCCS in the Engineering department who do EE or CS. That stuff makes my brain bleed.

Well the UF major is pretty cool because they give a lot of flexibility with course selection and what not. Im just hoping they will accept most of my credits that I've completed with Brandman.

I started my application at the University of Rochester and RIT. With the SWO/ED option being so competetive I think I'll hold off on the rest. Maybe apply to one more state school for some insurance.

Anyone notice the age requirement for SWO went up to 31? I'm pretty sure it was 28 when I started this application....

HOLY CRAPPP!!!!! They changed the age limit for SWO(IP) as well !!! ... What the hell?? When did this happen? I wonder if this applies to all of us applying this year?? I may have to email Mr. Straten.

That would be sick bro .... What option are you applying for again?? You would probably be taking on a pretty heavy course load in order to finish in 3 years depending on how many credits you have that they will apply to that degree. How long ago did you submit your application?? I was considering dropping an app with them as well. It seems like they have some pretty legit academics.

I'm applying for Pilot Option/Core. I wouldn't mind a heavy course load, but isn't 3 years (including summer terms) exactly the same pace as a regular 4 year program? I'm not completely aware yet of how semesters go at universities, but I was thinking 9mos x 4yrs == 12mos x 3yrs == 36mos. My only college credit is the military experience on my JST and a few CLEPs (one of which I KNOW they accept). If I take the whole 3 years at college, I would be commissioned 3 months before my 29th birthday (which is the limit for Pilot and Core Options).

I submitted my application to Oregon State on May 02, but the major holdup was getting my high school transcript to them. I'm from Corvallis, OR (home of OSU), which is the main reason I started looking at that school; the sweet academic program is just a bonus ;)

So the age limits changed last month and it does apply to all FY-14 applicants. This is such a huge relief. I can now apply to the school/major that I actually want to do.

They probably just finally got around to adjusting the 1420, the actual age limit for SWO was changed a while ago but NPC is very slow to change instructions while NRC will change them quite rapidly.

Hello, Long time lurker here. Just had a question. Im currently stationed in japan and i shipped my package out on the 28th of June Via USPS. Since it was official mail, it was free but i could not get a tracking number. as of today my status still shows package not received. has anyone who shipped a package from japan to STA-21 have a estimated time frame on the transit days?

When I shipped my first time application to STA-21, I was in Yokosuka. It took about 2-3 weeks, but that was in 2011, not sure if the process has improved. As long as your package is post-marked by 01 Jul of the application year, you will be fine.

That is very impressive; great job!

Does anyone know how critical this is for STA-21? Some Junior Officers here have informed me that they were required to achieve all the highest marks on thier appraisals when applying for OCS.
