The Russians must be given credit for coming up with some interesting designs over the years, what a monster.

What happens when you are defending the motherland from the yankee capitalist imperial pig dogs in your bitchin' WIG missileboatplanehovercraft and you run into one of those rogue north atlantic waves? Do you just scream AHHHH MOTHALAND and fire ze missiles?

Elephant walk
KC-135 Stratotankers assigned to MacDill Air Force Base, Fla., prepare for launch as part of an "Elephant Walk” on Jan. 20, 2012. Personnel from MacDill AFB’s total force integration, 6th Air Mobility Wing and 927th Air Reserve Wing, executed the mission and launched eight aircraft as part of the event. "Elephant Walk" is a historic, uniquely Air Force term that describes the nose-to-tail, single-file taxi movements of the aircraft synonymous with the nose-to-tail trail of lumbering elephants. Saw a video a while back, of some 15 B-52s "Elephant Walking" to the takeoff runway at a SAC Base during the cold war. It was a SAC ready alert-to-airborne exercise. The descriptive term is spot on. A very impressive, gigantic, slow-motion show! Their collective takeoff wake turbulence probably subsided sometime before the week was out!
