If by "gauntlet of death" you mean a quiet meandering path through a peaceful forest lined with sweet-smelling flowers, where some poor souls decide they can make it more interesting for everyone by figuratively beating the piss out of each other, then yes it is.

Uh-oh, A-pool kiddies are grounded again. Does anyone else thing this isn't a very good way to teach us a lesson? What does punishing the whole do? Does it say, "don't go out and shoot protected species in wildlife refuge"? No kidding? Wow, my weekend plans are cancelled I guess.

I have to say I am personally offended that the potential SNA's got only misdemeanors and the potential SNFO's got the felonies...when did we turn into pussies?

Thats pretty funny I am not sure wether I should laugh, cry, or piss myself based of that comment Pickle.

How often does the CO of a ship put the whole boat on liberty restrictions when a few seaman (ha i just said seaman) dick something up?

This isn't a rhetorical; I'm curious to how often this happens...

I've been on a carrier when the ship had the liberty hours shortened because of significant screw-ups from a few people.

In the past three pages of posts this thread started sounding VERY similar to Fox News around the time of Anna Nicole Smiths death. Nothing cures a good case of boredom like a good does of sensationalism.

Ok, drunk post, I've seen the kitty brought out to anchor because the ship as a whole was acting like a bunch of morons. No joke, all 3k+ sitting at anchor because a few decided to do stupid sh!t.

Happens all the time in Japan. One dude gets drunk and beats up a Japanese national, robs one, stabs one, etc. Several times I had to sit on base on a perfectly good weekend because some idiot decided to do something stupid. At least the O Clubs over there were usually good.

My last deployment we had to be back at the ship by 2200 in Toulon, France because of the screwups of a few in Civitivecchia, Italy.

There was a DDG in San Diego back in '06 that was having all kinds of problems with drugs and people acting like fools. For 6 straight weekends, the CO took the ship about a mile off the coast starting at 1600 on Friday, and pulled in at 0700 Monday morning.

They just sat at anchor and did GQ drills within sight of the girls on Coronado beach for 2 days.

I don't even want to think about how bad that would suck.

When I was on WestPac '02, my sub was supposed to do Battle Group Ops with the shitty kitty (Kitty Hawk) out of Yoko, but it never happened due to some crew shenanigans. They were bitching about going underway and supposedly set fire to some engineering spaces to stay in port. The CO ultimitely put the whole crew on cinderella liberty for weeks. The Haunch was dead for a while so no lines at the bar. ;)

As stated previously that is Standard Operations in Japan. 1 guy gets a DWDI (Japans version of a DUI .012BAC) and CAG decided that all of Atsugi is not allowed to drive their cars for 2 weeks. (Because obviously its the cars that are the problem.) One Yokosuka sailor gets drunk and makes the local JN news and now everyone (Yoko and Atsugi)has to be on base by 2200. One more gets in trouble and suddenly everyone is stuck on base and not allowed to go out in town at all. FDNF is intrusive leadership at it's finest. Ever have to fill out a detailed list of your weekend activities even if you are only going to dinner with your wife on Friday and doing chores the rest of the time? If you were in FDNF you have.
