The pistol and a friend were picked up today. Pictures to follow as soon as I find the damned camera.

Holy cash register Batman. A grand for a fucking wheel gun in .45 ACP?

Whatever floats your boat, I guess.

Were they all sold out of these:

edit: sorry about the picture size. I just wanted you to be able to tell that there are no bacteria on this weapon.

Still looking for the camera. Damned trick-or-treating kids and my pregnant wife keep interrupting my search.

MSRP and purchase price are two different things. The guys at the gun shop know me, so they go easier on my wallet. And there's nothing wrong with a wheel gun, especially in .45. I blame the shitter pilot air officer from the BLT I worked with in Afghanistan: He kept going on and on about moon clips for four months.

Sweet series 70. I have a series 80 Colt Combat Elite that I love.

Sorry for the lousy lighting. Very nice black finish on the wheelgun, with the basic notch rear sight, and the big dot tritium front. I saw the Taurus sitting in the gun shop, for about $150 less than they usually go for, and decided to pick it up. Still a bit of CLP on them from cleaning cosmoline off.

Here you go:

The 1911 is not a picture of the gun in my case, but it's the exact same one. I am just not tech savvy enough to fool around with posting the picture.

There is a series 80 stainless officer's model on consignment for $650 at a gun shop right by base. I am tempted to buy it, really, for no other reason than I want it. It's kind of hard to justify buying another 1911 less than a year after I got a brand new series 70 through. The spousal unit just does not understand.

Phew, I'm not the only one. For a while there, I thought I had a non-compliant model that may warrant return.

'Course, in my case I can (now) see where she was coming from, what with having just dropped a paycheck on a Steyr and heading out to the gun show.

My wife, her pregnant insanity aside, is generally pretty good about it. In fact, when I showed her the Nightguard, she said, "Oo, that looks neat. When can we go shoot it?" Hey, it's HER birthday, and she wants to go to the range. Who am I to argue?

Now, I'm not sure it's such a good idea, mind you, what with all the contaminants and all. But I might risk a limited exposure to begin the indoctrination of my young'un to be...
