Have you had a chance to look around AW? There is quite a bit of awesome info posted on here, that we couldn't begin to squeeze into this thread.

Also, I noticed in your profile that you are in MCJROTC, what kind of guidance have your advisors given you? Is there anything they have said that you don't understand that we could possibly clarify?

First, get rid of that F-15 avatar on a Navy/Marines/Coast Guard site!

Second, the "I wanna be a fighter pilot" opening line is really putting yourself at the mercy of the wolfpack here, not because that's a bad thing, but because that's about step 46 and you're at step -2. Start with a search of the site, then come back with questions for clarification, since variations of yourquestion pop up about every other day here.

relax man...I'm just looking for some information and its a hell of a lot easier for people to answer my questions personally than me read other peoples answers.

Hey! Another girl! :icon_woma

Navy or Marines of course! :D

Actually, all 4 services have military pilots. The marines are the only ones that can give early guarantees (according to the NROTC Commander of the Virginia Military Institute who told us prospective cadets this on Friday).

More importantly, if you are already a high school junior, you might want to get your ROTC or service academy application started in a few months. For NROTC as an example, I've been told there are about 20-30% more scholarships given to the earlier applicants than later ones.

ROTC:

Navy and Marines (first selection board meets in August, so submitting by the end of your Junior year gives you the best shot):

Army (applications are submitted any time until November 15th of senior year):

Air Force (applications begin to be accepted on May 1st of Junior year):

Service Academies:

Navy and Marines:

(as a junior, you can already apply for the NASS summer program which can give you a 20% better chance of acceptance, as I've heard)

Army:

(as a junior, you can apply for the SLS summer program - don't know if it will give applicants a leg up to have participated in SLS though)

Good luck! :thumbup_1
