I wanted to wear a tux. The wife and future mother-in-law wanted a dress white uniform. I didn't get the tux. They settled on mess dress whites. It turned out very nice.

Best Uniform For Getting .... WHAT????

God I saw the thread subject in it's abbreviated form - and as a loyal AW - I quite correctly thought the thread was actually titled Best Uniform For Getting Laid.

To what depths have we sunken to?

For what it's worth, I'm wearing Dress Blue/White Alpha with Sam Browne...

For what it's worth so did I. And yes, it's the uniform she wanted.:icon_wink

I know a few Marines whose fiances don't want them to wear blues at the wedding because it takes the focus off the bride. After all it's her day.

I like Dress Blue Bravo with the Sam Browne. Only because I have one measely medal and I think shooting badges look cool.

Wear your dress blues. This is pretty much standard for most of the marine weddings I have attended (including my own), plus it is more traditional. It is also the most expensive uniform, so you might as well get the most mileage out of it as possible. If you and your future wife like the other uniforms as well, you can also do a photo session with outfit changes. We did dress blues matched with the white wedding gown and alphas matched with an evening gown.

If you are interested in the traditional way of doing a military wedding, this book talks about weddings to a certain degree. I have read through parts of it, it's pretty good, even if the first edition was written several years ago. I believe he recommends attire, but I dont know if he addresses Marine attire or just Navy. If memory serves he recomends the highest uniform, with all of the formal accessories, except the sword which is generally not worn in a house of worship.
