Anyone taken the first segment of the "Global War on Error" aviation safety classes online? Apparently the first one, "Flight Discipline" is required by the end of the month. Marine Net wouldn't let me see the course, only take the test, on which I managed a 93% without having seen the material. This speaks either to my brilliance or the course's stupidity.

Did it last week.

MarineNet has been AFU for the last few days. I've got to send some folks down to get their RSO cards at Blackburn tomorrow, and they can't get that sh!t to load on their computers. Without doing the computer lessons, they can't go to the actual class. Our Ops Chief called to b!tch about it (mainly because he's a MSgt, and that's what they do), and the tech support person told him there was high usage eating up the bandwidth.

How did you skip straight to the test??? I had to watch the whole damn thing first.

There were two options on the right side. "Access course content" and "Take the test." I tried to "access course," but it kept timing out, so I rolled the dice on the test.

Is that a NavAir/OpNav requirement? Or USMC? Just curious since I'm going to be seeing the Coastie recruiter next week...

That button was there (but not active) until I finished the course. Weird. Anyway, it's done.

The directive I saw trelling me to take it was from III MAW, but I'm fairly certain that it's a HQMC thing.

In all honesty, it wasn't the stupidest thing I've ever been forced to watch. The winner of that distinction would be the Information Assurance course on the same website I had to do 2 years ago (and failed once). Was it worth the 2 hours it took me to do it? That's debateable. Some of that time was the computer red-ass of getting started, though.

It's probably a close race between the Information Assurance brief and the Trafficing in Persons brief, as far as mando education goes...

I'll agree, it wasn't the worst thing I've had to do. Some of the case studies were all right. The F-15 flathatting kind of sticks out. It was a little more thought provoking than the canned CRM brief you get every year.

The past couple of days, you had about 300 2nd Lts at TBS try to complete ORM on Marine Net to turn in for Monday morning. Maybe thats why it was not working.

Got the Global War on Error presentation, it is pretty good: informative interesting and enjoyable. They plug their books and other stuff a bit much but these guys put on some good training.
