January Aviation Board

Hello Everyone,

Just today I finalized my application kit for the January Aviation (OCS Selection) Board. My recruiter told me that the kit had to be completed by Jan. 8 and that the board will meet Jan. 2X.

I am applying for SNA only.

3.7 GPA Mechanical Engineering Technology with Aerospace Technology Certificate
ALSO 3.6 GPA for two Associate's degrees: Math and Engineering Science
ASTB: 7/7/6 62
I have worked in industry as a CNC machinist.
Eagle Scout
25yrs of age
20/15 uncorrected vision
No flight training
LORs from AF Major General, USMC Colonel and former Scoutmaster.
and very favorable employer references.

For those also applying to the January AVIATION board, what are you bringing to the fight?

Good luck to you, stats look good to me. I was recommended by the November board, 7/7/7 59 and similar grades in school. Don't give up if it takes more than one time around with the review board. now where's my final select..?

Good luck with the board. I applied with a better ASTB but a lower GPA and got picked up for SNA in the last November board. Just got a call today that my background check is getting started so hopefully everything will go quickly.

I am not sure if OCS is that different but you have better scores than me and i got SNA

Just talked to my recruiter this afternoon. He just got the last piece of my kit he needed so now my package is on the way for the Jan. board. Here's my stats. (I know not the greatest, but my recruiter says I'm strong overall so I got a real good chance.)

Applying for BDCP for NFO, SWO, & Supply

Major in Geosciences, 3.1 GPA (has been steadily rising for the last four semesters from a 2.7)

ASTB: 6/7/7 54

Prior service: 3 years Air Nat'l Guard (Security), 3 years Navy Reserve (Seabees)

23 years old

LORs from Mississippi State Climatologist (also a former USMC Captain), Retired Supply LCDR, Retired Command Master Chief,
and a very favorable employer reference.

There are always a lot of applicants for any designator applied for.
Delays in the works for most of you. CNRC has gone to a new on line management/communication tool that is AFU. Your recruiters and processors are having a hard time getting info from CNRC. Even if the board meets on time they will probably be late getting the word out. Be patient.

You can't do anything to affect your test scores and GPA or even vision in the short term. Just apply and see what happens.
